Jane Eyre 2025 Pinot Noir 750ml

Jane Eyre probably needs a little introduction, but once done so, you’ll wish you’d have heard about her sooner. Australian born winemaker, who has spent most of her career overseas, Jane was recently appointed director/chief winemaker for the prestigious Domaine du Comte Armand in the village of Pommard in Burgundy. Most years she travels back to Australia for harvest to craft Pinot Noir from her home state of Victoria but also makes the trip across Bass Straight to link up with Jim Chatto to craft a Tasmanian Pinot Noir.
The 2025 rendition of this wine hails from the north of the state, crafted from 3 separate vineyards in the Tamar Valley and Pipers River. Wild yeast fermentation with 20% whole bunch inclusion and 10 months in oak before bottling. Vivid perfume here. Red cherry, pink musk stick and a little rose petal floral note. Elegant palate with supple concentration and gentle tannin chew. Some nice savoury, moreish length underlying the attractive red fruits. A little earthy barrel spice, with wonderful length to finish.
